Creative Yearly Review (2024)
Creative Yearly Review (2024)
January signalled hope
A symbol of new beginnings
Nothing stood in the way of fiery ambition
Until the weather brought me back to the realm of cold dreams
At times I felt crappy, not happy
Rightfully so
Yet I braved the wind and fired on!
February took us to Vilnius
Earthly paradise,
Bursting with nutritious food—so delicious
Rare travel gem—so hospitable
Unbelievably so!
And words fall short
Right at this moment—for I’m in awe
You should have seen me back there ! I was in love!
March saw the return of spring
At least the sun came back, tentatively
Resulting into timid warmth
Cold mornings, hot afternoons, chilly evenings
Homely comforts were much needed!
April lived up to our expectations
Pleasant, peaceful, perfect—Nature was nothing short of
Radiant and reassuring
I immersed myself in its splendour
Leisurely and lovingly—I wished the days could last longer!
May was way too pleasurable
And the days were sunny and not so hot
Youth’s promise! I was smitten!
June, oh June! My birth month!
Under your stars I turned forty-three
Never thought I would celebrate this in Crete
Endearing Crete— Your beauty is stunning! Your history enthralling!
July took us back home
Unexpected storms punctuated our long, winding days
Life became unpredicatable
Yet summer’s heat brought repose!
August was regal
Unbeatable, unstoppable
Glory enveloped August’s reign
Unfortunately, as per the cycle of life
Summer came to an end, and so did August’s reign
That was fine, so to speak! Good things always come to an end!
September was for rebirth
Epic plans filled with earnest intentions, characterised by
Passion and persistence
Time and talent submitted to the service of creativity,
Efficiency and productivity
Meaning and magnificence meant to mingle
Behind the veil of imagination
Each letter, each word, each sentence,
recognising my efforts and enacting my ambitious dreams!
October carried me through
Carefully and devotedly
Time was on my side
October was my ally
Best month for my creativity
Everything was rolling
Rocking I should say! I was elated!
November was cold and dark!
Obviously I sought greener pastures
Veered towards the sun
Encountered kindness beyond
Measure! Oh Ethiopia, how my eyes were opened
Because you took me in your bosom
Enshrouded me in your embrace
Reawakened my ancestral desires— I was reborn!
December delivered
Exceptional and delightful; lovely time spent with my family
Closure was needed
Exactly because of
Moments of joy are to be treasured, always, so
Back to Vilnius we went
Enjoyed ourselves and came
Roaring back into Warsaw and the New Year!
